Behind every great company, there’s a great story – and FTS Resolve is no exception. We started in 2011 with only three guys: Carl Norton, Jed Nalder and Steve Diver. Mates who played football together on weekends, little did we know we’d be running a business together one day…
The beginning
The magic moment happened when Carl was driving home from the city one night listening to the radio. He heard a segment about the NBN project and thought to himself, “I need to be involved in that.”
So, he spoke with Jed (the numbers man) and Steve (the experienced technician), and Fibre Tech Services was started in October 2011. In the early days, the business was just Steve, a few mates, a truck and a van. After a while, we brought in some contractors to help out, and business started to take off. By 2013, Jed and Carl were both working in the business full time.
The opportunity
From the early days of FTS, we’d identified a serious lack of dedicated contractors and service providers. We also noticed that there was no one offering a complete turnkey service. An opportunity presented itself.
Over the past six years, as we added to our service offering, our new divisions came with an array of new business names – i.e. FTS Drilling, FTS Hire. Eventually we decided to pull it all together under one name: FTS Construction.
FTS Construction took us to the next level as a turnkey service provider. We added an electrical division for the first time in September 2017. Things were getting really exciting, but they were about to get even better.
The vision
One thing has remained the same since we started the business: our determination to overcome any challenge. This is a vision that Steve, Jed and Carl have fostered since the very beginning. Our clients work with us because we consistently provide service that goes above and beyond. We are able to achieve the unachievable.
We’ve become a trusted provider in the industry, leading complicated projects for companies like TPG to completion, and finding solutions to work that posed environmental issues. We’ve also become heavily involved in the NBN rollout, just as Carl dreamed of in the beginning.
The business was renamed FTS Resolve in September 2017, this next step demonstrates our commitment to finding effective solutions as well as our strength and certainty of character.
FTS Resolve is ready to take whatever the telecommunications and electrical industry throws at us – because we believe that nothing is insurmountable.
